Jeffrey Brown vs. Daniel Clowes

Two Big releases come out this Wednesday.  Here are the discriptions for each:

WILSON

Writter/Artist Daniel Clowes

The cartoonist of Ghost World gives us his funniest and most deeply affecting novel to date. Wilson, an opinionated middle-aged loner, loves his dog and possibly no one else. After his father dies, Wilson sets out to find his ex-wife with the hope of rekindling their long-dead relationship, and discovers he has a teenage daughter, born after the marriage ended and given up for adoption. Wilson eventually forces all three to reconnect as a family - a doomed mission that will surely, inevitably backfire. Wilson is Clowes' first all-new graphic novel that has not been serialized and is being presented in book form for the first time.

  1. Oh Jared, you and your "Indy" comics. I going to declare Jeffery Brown the winner because I had actually knew about him before this post.

P.S. I heard your ad this mourning on the radio, and I must thank you for not having some stupid song or skit in it.

  2. Are you saying you have never heard of Daniel Clowes? And it sounds like you've never read any Jeffrey Brown? What are you doing with your life? Get on that.

  5. I have read a little of Jeffery Brown's Clumsy and his short story in Marvels "Strange Tales." I guess I'll check out Man Cat. Also can I just pick up any of Clowes work or is there some order I should read his stuff?
