Life with Archie #6

This issue of Life with Archie features two great stories featuring everyone’s favorite Riverdale residents.

The first story is about the on going Mayoral race between the incumbent Mayor and Riverdale’s up and coming politician Mason Marmaduke. But the story that makes this issue so groundbreaking is the second story that is featured, and that story is entitled “Farewell”.

The story revolves around one of Riverdale’s veteran characters, Ms. Grundy and how as of recent she has revealed that she is sick and the story looks back on all of the times that the student of Riverdale had with her.

The issue, which also functions as a magazine, in both size and content, also features many short comics under the Jinx banner. In addition, to meet the pop culture aspect of the magazine there is a section in the middle of the issue that features Archie and his friends talking about various movies stars they are interested in. As an additional bonus, there is also a double-sided pull out poster.

One of the things that I have always loved about Archie comics, that I mentioned a few months back when I reviewed an issue of Veronica is that no matter what issue number a reader picks up they will be able to jump right into the story and you feel like you have been reading for years. The stories always do a great job of back tracking enough so that a new reader can jump right in, and it is a real selling point of the comic if you ask me.

One of my favorite things about Archie comics whenever I read them is that the art has been consistent since its inception, which is great, not just continuity, but it also feels like you are back in the 1940’s when Archie first started, its antiquated but still up to date and the art is just beautiful.

I always find myself saying the same stuff about Archie comics; I never seem to be disappointed. So whether you pick up this issue, or you pick up any other Archie comic, you will surely enjoy your read and get your money’s worth.

10 out of 10
