Your mind is the scene of the crime

*By the time I finished writing this I realized that Hot Carl had already posted about Inception, but I figured - since I pretty much agreed with him - I would add this as a kind of supplementary post*

Many a movie comes along that builds high expectations and amasses a startling amount of hype amidst your average moviegoer and harshest critic. What is uncommon however, is for said movie to, not only please audiences and critics, but to go above and beyond the expectations that have been set by both, and to reach what can only be referred to as an astronomical high point in the world of cinema.

Inception is such a film.

It reportedly took director Christopher Nolan (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Prestige) eight years to write the screenplay and it shows. Every line of dialogue, every camera angle, special effect, and music cue is exquisitely crafted, each an integral, well thought out piece of a perfect whole.

The cast is as talented as it is unexpected. Leonardo DiCaprio receives sole billing (and deservedly so - he carries the film and, as his recent track record has proven, he is a certifiable star), but his talented supporting cast is just as good. Joseph Gordon-Levitt has made a comfortable transition from..........
