Moose Baumann, a comic colorist, is selling some nice 13" x 19" prints of some of his work. Plus all profits help with Baumann's wife cancer treatment. Fear Itself: Invincible Iron Man #503 Comic Review

As Fear Itself begins to spread through the Marvel Universe, it invades the pages of the Invincible Iron Man. The series left off last issue with many of the members of Stark Resilient in dire need of help, with Tony cornered by Doc Oc and Pepper, Pim and Tim threatened by Sandman and Electro. Although the issue does not allude to the Fear Itself crossover till towards the end of the issue, it can already be told that the pages of Invincible Iron Man will play an important role in this event.

Godzilla Kingdom of Monsters #1 Comic Review

Godzilla Kingdom of Monsters from IDW publishing is a classic take on the character Godzilla. One day the God lizard emerges from the water and lays waste to Japan, and no matter how hard they try to stop the monster all attempts are meek.

Godzilla is written by Eric Powell and Tracy Marsh, and illustrated by Phil Hester. The writing is just spectacular it is simple yet defined. Short quips of fear from the onlookers, coupled with the fast pace thinking of the Japanese government work astonishingly well with the art, building off each other, a concept that is rarely seen in comics these days.

FF (Future Foundation) #1 Comic Review! Get it Here first at BlogsOut.net

FF #1 explains what the Future Foundation is. What it stands for, its goals and who the members of the foundation are, including its newest member, Marvel’s favorite wall-crawler, Spider-Man. Aside from that, the issue brings back and long forgotten villain thought to have been eradicated.

Finally the culmination of Jonathan Hickman’s arc of Fantastic Four has reached its pinnacle with the release of FF #1. The answers that Fantastic Four fans have been waiting for are finally going to be explained and it all starts here in this issue, and it begins with a heartfelt goodbye from theHuman Torch himself that was recorded prior to his death.

Sigil #1 Comic Review and the Return of CrossGen Comics

Sigil is the first of Marvel’s new CrossGen line of comics, soon to be followed by The Ruse. Sigil is a miniseries written by writer Mike Carey who is best known for his work on Marvel’s X-Men Legacy and Vertigo’s the Unwritten.

The story follows 16 year old girl Samantha as she struggles with average high school troubles such as bullies and class. But she is unlike other girls her age, she recently developed an interesting birthmark on her chest that has also began to cause out of this world dreams unlike anything anyone could imagine.

Warlords of Mars #1 Comic Review

Warlord of Mars was originally a science fiction novel by author Edgar Rice Burroughs. It is a story of two warring societies on Mars that have a constant conflict for control of the land and the planet itself. The one thing that could possibly bring together these two nations is the marriage between the princess of one society and the prince of the other

The first thing that a reader will notice about this comic is the plethora of covers that are offered for this first issue, all from noticeable artists such as Art Adams, David Finch, and Greg Land. Aside from the great cover art, the interior art is spectacular as well, illustrated by artist Carlos Rafael.

The Grim Ghost #1 Comic Review and the return of Atlas Comics

The Grim Ghost is one of three series that have debuted from the recently resurrected Atlas Comics, along with Wulf and Phoenix. For those who do not know, Atlas comics was a company in the 1970’s that went out of business leaving its characters and their stories ending with it.

The first thing a reader will notice about this book is its size, and with a low price of 2.99 that is a positive in any comic reader’s book. The book is written by Tony Isabella, best know for creating DC’s Black Lightening and Stephen Susco, most well known for writing the horror movie “The Grudge”. While the Kelley Jones, whom is best known for his work on the Sandman.

March 6th: Happy Birthday Will Eisner!

BlogsOut.net wishes Will Eisner a Happy Birthday, he would be 94 years old. Google had a nice logo in honor of the famous comic artist on their site. Just think, without Eisner, how would our favorite writers and artists get awards?

Hoang Nguyen's Carbon Grey #1 Comic Review

Carbon Grey takes place in some sort of alternate reality war torn Germany that just learned their leader the Kaiser has been assassinated. Enter the Sisters Grey. Over many generations there have been the Sisters Grey, three sisters, never more that outlined Germany, one representing strength, grace and wisdom, until now. In the current generation there four though, and that seems to be the key to the death and destruction that is laying waste to present.

Carbon grey is the brainchild of writer and artist Hoang Nguyen, who not only was the head writer and artist but also created the premise of the story and the series itself. In addition to Nguyen there are a number of other writers and artists, but he really is the basis of both.

The story is very complex, and will leave any reader lost and perplexed by the conclusion of the issue. The issue follows the storyline of each Grey Sister as they infiltrate and destroy the world around them. One of the things that makes the stories so complex is that the issue does not yield a connection to each other in the slightest, so it is hard to get a grasp on the story aside from the fact that they are all surrounded by death and destruction.

As for the art, the art is spectacular. It has a classic yet modern feel of Japanese art, and really reminds me of artist Sana Takeda who worked on Marvel’s last Ms. Marvel series. Although there is a lot going on in each panel, Nguyen differentiates its all perfectly, never taking away from even the slightest background piece. The book is loaded with blood, gore, and violence, which coupled with this great art really made the book all that it is. If you don’t dig the story the art is worth the price of the book by itself.

Carbon Grey has a very unique feel to it, even though the story is confusing it is hard to dislike and find fault with it because it gives the impression that as the read more of the series, all of the story lines will come together just perfectly creating a story that is worth the confusing wait. One thing that is always great about checking out titles from Indy companies like Image is that you will always get these more complex storylines as well as great, unique art, which will always keep readers coming back for more.

It really pays repect to a man that was a great writer, a pioneer with the Milestone comic line, and somebody that didn't take "editorial suggestions" very well.

Gotham City Sirens #20 Comic Review

In this new arc of DC comic’s series Gotham City Sirens the reader encounters the character Harley Quinn breaking into Gotham’s infamous institution, Arkham Asylum to confront the love of her life; The Joker.

This issue ties nicely into the Batman universe, since the Joker has returned and is recapturing the role of not only Batman’s but also Gotham’s most prominent villain.

Super quick Video Game Review: Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 is a not quite balance 2d fighter. Every characters feel and play different. Although lack many of the features that it predecessor, Super Street Fighter IV, has it is still an unique and fun game. Online can really be hampered by lag. Overall if you liked Marvel Comics or Capcom characters, MVC3 is definitely worth a shot.
