Will Image comics make you rich?

In the past year Image comics has put out more first issues that have exploded in the secondary market.
Yeah, The Walking Dead #1 is worth a bunch, but that came out over 7 years ago.

The first printing of Chew is still going for about $80 today.

Morning Glories #1 first printing is going for about $35.

Now, there is a new book called 27.
It is already sold out BEFORE coming to comic shops.
you can pre order a copy for $28!

Bleeding cool reported that one sold for $35

So what's the point in all of this?
Give indy comics a try.
The stories are great, it's a nice vacation from spandex and unrealistically huge breast.
ha ha.
I'm not saying that you should treat comics as a college fund for your kids.
It's just nice to give a new series a shot.
Then find out your book is worth a couple more bucks then the cover price you paid for it.
