Super Quick Review of Fast Five.

Dumb and ridiculous, but I still found it entertaining. Maybe it was the crowd I saw it with. But if you are in the mood for a dumb heist movie, you could do worse.

Quick Movie Reviews of Paul & Battle L.A.

Paul is not the best Pegg/Frost film, but it isn't anything to be ashamed of. Sure, not all the jokes hi.t  A lot of the humor is straight references to other sci-fi films. Pegg and Frost are as likable as always. Jason Bateman is surprisingly good as a bad ass man in black. Seth Rogen as the voice of Paul is good as well.  No one is terrible, but I can't help wishing that Edgar Wright directed this.

Battle: Los Angles is not for everyone. It lacks any emotion connection. When people die I could tell who it was. Also the squad is full of war movies clichés. The dialog ranges from OK to just terrible. Aaron Eckhart does his best to sell it. But the one thing movie does quite well is blow sh*t up. Plus in an round about way it kinda give the movie Signs the finger. If you are going to see this movie I suggest a matinée screening or with a nice large TV with a decent sound system.

X-Men: First Class - First Trailer

I have to say after seeing this I am much more enthused about this film then previously, though that could just be because I love Cuban Missile Crisis angle. Also I think January Jones cast as Emma Frost is great, she plays a wonderful bitch on Mad Men.

Hot Carl's quick review of The Warrior's Way

First ten to twenty minutes: Cool ninja (kinda) action.
Middle forty to fifty minutes: Boring, unoriginal, killer learns new way of life, plus terrible acting from Kate Bosworth.
Last twenty to thirty minutes: Cool cowboy vs. ninja (kinda) action returns.

Overall, Worth a rental but I definitely wouldn't pay more than manatee price to see this movie.

Scott Pilgrim Vs. is a really fun movie.

I really enjoy this film. Sure at first it is a little slow, but when the first ex shows up it goes into overdrive. Chris Evans and Brandon Routh play the two ex's that really steal the movie. Also I love how a ton of the movie's jokes are in the background. It is definitely worth the price of admission.

Inception is a movie that requires a little grey matter.

Inception is a thinking man action movie. If you pay attention through the first act, you should be able to comprehend the film's plot. Nolan's gets great performances from the entire cast. The cinematography is beautiful. I was never bored as the movie moves quickly. I do have a few complains, such as beside Cobb there isn't a lot of character development and beside one really cool fight scene most of the action scenes use quick cuts. Overall I enjoy the movie and I don't regret paying matinée price. Not at all.

First Look at Green Lantern

The new issue of Entertainment Weekly
Tomorrow's issue of Entertainment Weekly features the exclusive first look at the Green Lantern movie, with the first glimpse of Ryan Reynolds in the GL uniform featured on the cover. The image hit the net today in the kickoff of what will be a push to get some initial exposure for the film.

I'll admit that I'm a little surprised by the uniform - I'm really torn between the interesting new look and the traditionalist in me who wants to see a more literal translation of GL's iconic uniform from the comics.  It's hard not to get so excited by seeing my favorite character brought to life.  I mean, it's not like they gave the costume bat-nipples or anything, right?

Predators is a B-movie.

An entertaining B-movie. Adrian Brody does a decent job. The film makers show restraint with the predators as you really only see non cloak late in movie. It does kinda steal scenes from the 1987 original. Also the one liners are no near as quotable as the Schwarzenegger film. Overall I don't regret paying the matinée price.

Green Lantern Uniform will be CGI

One of the milestones that most Green Lantern fans are waiting for is the release of an image of Ryan Reynolds wearing the GL uniform. All of us hoping for a leaked image will be in for a disappointment with the news that Reynolds isn't wearing one.

No, he's not running around nude, but Warner Brothers is going a different route with Hal's uniform, one that will be either incredible awesome or incredibly lame. The costume, according to Slashfilm, will be computer generated in post production. According to their report, Reynolds is wearing a mocap suit similar to the one worn by Billy Crudup when he played Dr. Manhattan in the Watchmen film.
