As I make insights to noteworthy anime titles, I will also carry the burden of posting manga articles from time to time entitled: <strong>''In The Defense Of Manga''.</strong> Because lets face it, like any standard American comic or anime, manga is just as fun. That and the fact you'd be surprised as to how many comic book artist have been influenced by such a foreign reading material such as this.</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="justify"> Like anime, the manga medium also has its share of misconcepted criticism and deluded outburst, led by the mass crowd of the typical non-reader's of Japanese comics. I'm fully aware that its all in a matter of taste and know not everyone will jump on the scene of it, but if we continue to overlook and gripe about an art that has entertained the masses who've been reading it since their early days of growing up, we'll ultimately miss the big picture right in front of us. So why not we embrace culture and discover what's outside the walls our personal incomprobility to manga and its counterpart brother anime. In short saying, a little diversity never hurt anyone. </div></div>Dhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08394801013371960598noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7327440888254860063.post-40279657692548871822011-08-19T12:56:00.010-04:002011-09-27T23:04:19.936-04:00Konbanwa fellow blogspeople!<br />

It's nice to be on the site. First off, I would happily like to thank Jared for the invite even though he's pushed me to start something online and I figured why not? For the short introductory, My name is Dylan or simply ''D''. A so called ''regular'' at the privately-owned establishment known as , <em>Heroes Your Mom Threw Out Comic book store </em>(lovely name). Anyhow t0 get this done and out of the way, as a person who reads comic books as a form of entertainment, I tend to look for other material that isn't just within the pages of a typical magazine.</div>
</div>
<div align="center">
To put it simply, I'm not here to write post about comics because that job already goes to the fellows who run this shindig. I'm here to do something different and that difference I believe deserves some spotlight on the entertainment industry. Rather than talk about comics in general, I will be posting on one of the most over looked forms of entertainment that's been around since the Early 1900's: <strong><span style="color: black;">Anime</span></strong>. Yes the Japanese cartoon medium that's been known for its crazy, big eyed, giant robot and magical girl antic's that were pretty familiar with. Sadly, it's tropes like these is where anime usually gets its criticism and looked down upon the casual viewers , but if you as casual viewer's just give yourself the chance to look in the right direction you won't be sorry nor disappointed. Hopefully that's what these post will hope to accomplish.</div>
<br /><br />
<div align="center">
So to start off the following month, I'll be giving my in depth review at one of the all time American favorites: <strong><em>Cowboy Bebop</em></strong>. Tune in next month to check it out! <img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5642641879647889682" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3tE9s3YDsITjEDrR9lAV4CPF1NU5qYdTPp5d2s041kX4c6ebhnN2lIulOC5knoJXbPIo4FT7He-gA0dAHvh9SuaAjCoCwmHVdrBQzxlJ6b0qtMe5krlBVumse-vjjz-zFpeI5Hmr7zh5W/s320/Spike.jpg" style="cursor: hand; display: block; height: 154px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 320px;" /></div>

I’m happy to report that the third installment of the “Transformers” film saga isn’t any worse than its predecessor, though I’d be lying if I said it were much of an improvement.</div><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;"><br />

It all begins with a spaceship, called “The Arc,” which crashed on the moon to begin the Space Race.</div><br />

<div>If audiences have learned anything from J.J. Abrams over the past decade or so, it’s to expect the unexpected when it comes to his wildly diverse projects. He has experimented in nearly all genres (even blending them) in his impressive resume that includes cult television hits <i>Lost</i>, <i>Alias</i>, and <i>Fringe</i> as well as big screen successes <i>Cloverfield</i>, <i>Mission Impossible III</i>, and 2009’s acclaimed <i>Star Trek</i> revamp that managed to turn the heads of even the staunchest Trek-haters. When it was announced that Abrams was putting together a new project, under the watchful eye of mentor Steven Spielberg, puzzlingly titled <i>Super 8</i>, message boards went crazy, and rightfully so.</div><div><br />
</div><div>After all, if there is any one factor that binds Abrams’ vast array of work together it is his love of mystery, and <i>Super 8</i> is no exception. Well folks, the waiting is over and after months of vague viral marketing campaigns and trailers that revealed – well – nothing, <i>Super 8</i> is currently at a theatre near you, resting comfortably atop the box office competition, a seat it has rightfully earned.</div><div><br />

<div>A confident young man, complete with a full head of hair, swaggers over to a beautiful young woman, spouting off evolutionary facts as off kilter, albeit effective, pick up lines. Ladies and gentleman, meet Charles Xavier, who general audiences now know as Professor X, the wise, benevolent, very bald and wheel-chair bound leader of the super powered squad commonly known as The X-Men. </div><div><br />
</div><div>Set in the early 1960s, <i>X-Men: First Class</i> is a wildly imaginative and stylish film, a loose prequel to the popular film franchise that has brought in over one billion dollars over the course of four installments.</div><div><br />
</div><div>Even though the series had continued to prove profitable, it began to fall out of favor with both critics and audiences, first with the initial trilogy’s concluding chapter, <i>X-Men: The Last Stand</i>, and next with the entertaining, but overall disappointing <i>X-Men Origins: Wolverine</i>. Somewhere along the line, the films lost the thematic integrity and smart storytelling with which director Bryan Singer’s <i>X-Men</i> and <i>X2</i> established the bar for serious, respectable comic adaptations. </div><div><br />
</div><div>Enter director Matthew Vaughn, hot off his success with the no holds barred <i>Kick-Ass</i>, and a limited but impressive resume that also features the British gangster film <i>Layer Cake</i> and the underrated fantasy gem <i>Stardust</i>. Vaughn proves to be just the adrenaline boost that the lagging X-Franchise needs. His presence, coupled with a story from Singer (who also returns in a producing capacity) makes for a fast, fun, thrill ride with real gravitas, a true return to the excellent form of the first two films.</div><div><br />

The characters are said to be younger and will be living in a more current world that will speak to todays audience. The other big news is that DC will finally be putting out digital comics on the same day as the physical copies.<br /><br />Finally we can all stop going to Heroes.<br /><br />I think it's a terrible move.
